Children all over the world are bothered by the evil man hidden in the dark (mainly under the bed) waiting for them to fall asleep to… well, to do what exactly?
Myth has it that this paranormal creature preys on the fear of children to become stronger, but it doesn’t quite say what happens to the children when they get caught. Is he captivating the kids, eating them, torturing them? There is no evidence for any of these deeds, but to this day the Boogeyman is used to induce a child with fear, often to keep it safe (so the parents think), i.e. not to go out of the house at night or into the woods alone.
It is fear that attracts the Boogeyman.
So why does he induce fear? Because he can. He doesn’t even need to exist. The fear of his existence alone does the job and hold the kids captive of their imaginations. Fear is used to control children around the world up to this day and leaves an imprint in the subconscious mind that there is such a thing as the Boogeyman who can do unspeakable things… although he never has done any of this anywhere!
Not only children are living in fear of imaginary threats to their lives, also adults are held captive in fear of the one thing that is sure to happen anyway: dying. But hold on for a sec, death is not imaginary, it is real right? Well, I have to ask, how do you know? How do you know that death is real? Have you been dying before? Can you report how that is and that it is so terrifying? Maybe such a thing as death doesn’t exist, like the Boogeyman. And if you look closer, there is evidence that death doesn’t exist: people who had a NDE (near death experience) universally report that they were fully present and conscious, leaving a body behind they hardly recognise as their own, don’t have emotions like fear or horror, on the contrary, they experience a feeling of lightness and happiness and are unencumbered from worries. They still exist and feel drawn to go somewhere, but where to is never revealed, because obviously they turned around and occupied the body again to report to us how it feels to be dead, or nearly dead for that matter.
It might be so that the Boogeyman is a synonym for death, both imaginary, but by being given so much strength through fear it gains a reality that does not exist!
In my family constellation ViRTUAL trainings I do an exercise with my trainees in order for them to have an encounter with death on a spiritual level and find out for themselves if it is imaginary or a fact. One trainee said after this exercise: “This guided meditation had a deep impact on me. I felt a great relief after discovering for myself that death doesn’t exist. The next day I saw the world around me through different eyes: everything was more vibrant, colorful, joyful. All fear seems to be gone: I don’t have to check under my bed any more in the night, because I know there’s no-one hiding in the dark!”
So who’s still afraid of the Boogeyman? Only those who haven’t embarked on their journey to themselves, to discover Freedom and Happiness which is the reward you get once you’ve conquered the fear.
I see you on the other side!
