Have you ever wondered why you don’t feel fulfilled for long when what you have desired became reality? And why it feels so good to create things that you don’t even need? So what is the difference between desire and creativity?
Desire has a low frequency. The emotion of always wanting to have something and never being content with what one has is coming from the ego-mind: it tells you to get this and that to be happy. Of course this is a lie: we all know that after a while, when we have achieved or acquired what we desired, it becomes the ‘new normal’ and is not enough any more. Something else needs to be added to our life again to satisfy this demanding voice inside! Because the ego-mind never has or is enough by definition: it defines itself through all this possession, they create the sensation of being greater, more important, more real, and that is the fuel for a thriving ego. To desire is an addiction. It bounds us to what we desire and freedom is its enemy.
On the other hand there is creativity: the drive to write or paint or knit or make a podcast for youtube. The drive to create the best live for yourself and your loved ones and for the whole world at large. Creativity vibrates very high, around 500 on the chart of consciousness form Dr. David Hawkins (the map of consciousness), while desire is only at 125. The well-know US based psychiatrist has done extensive research on the energy of emotions in humans and in which frequency this energy is vibrating.
“I never made one of my discoveries through the process of rational thinking – Albert Einstein
In the state of creativity the mind is at rest. Something else is taking over that is guiding you with love to express your individual self. We can call it the Spirit or some might say the Higher Self. In the state of true creativity time stands still. You don’t notice while you’re crafting, making, writing or painting how much time has passed by.
This is very different to the state of desire: time it the main factor here, what ever you desire must happen here and now! You can’t wait until you get what you want, time doesn’t seem to go bye at all. The desire is focused on the outcome, the product, the end result. The way to the desired goal has no meaning, it just needs to be done, whatever it takes, and it better be fast!
Einstein said that every break-through in his work took place in the state of no-mind: not thinking hard but letting go of thinking and being relaxed, staying curious with a specific question for a long time without wanting to know the answer but enjoying the process of unfolding. This is the state of creativity. And then the thought came out of no-where that changed forever the way physics has been perceived for centuries.
In the state of creativity you don’t think. Time is not present and the result is uncertain, because it is not yet there: the fulfilment lies in the process of creating. You don’t know what you get out of your actions but you enjoy them tremendously. Love is synonymous to creation, it is one and the same. Everything that has ever been created comes from Love. Not-to-love is where destruction takes place, not creation. Before something can be brought down, it was created first. Love comes first.
The state of creativity is the state of unconditional love. There is no desire, no wanting or craving, there is just openness to everything. Because the ego-mind is at rest, not involved, not even present in this moment.
Even the desire to create pleasant life circumstances can vibrate on a high level of consciousness, as long as there is not a desire for certain things to make this happen but rather an openness to invite divine intervention to steer life and give it direction, and to follow the heart when decision need to be made rather then the mind. When focusing on the process of creating a wonderful live, one is in the state of loving life itself. And the outcome will always be way better than the mind can think off to start with: the desire for a certain outcome is also putting restrictions in place. What if divine intention has more to offer than the mind wants you to have? You’ll never know until you leave the end result to the universe and focus on the process of creating what makes your heart sing. How can you do that?
Just Love Life!
