Peace is just the beginning

We’re all looking for peace in our lives but find it hard to staying peaceful most of the times. Being drawn into the drama of relationships at home or in the workplace by default is tiring and makes us questioning the meaning of it all: what’s the point? Why is this happening all the time although everyone involved is actually looking for peace?

The point is: without experiencing how it is to be not at peace we wouldn’t have the desire to get out of this low state of energy and come to a higher state, the state of peace.

Peace is part of the duality of our reality

Peace only exsists in a world that is also experiencing to be not in peace. Does that makes sense? Peace is part of the duality of our reality. It is not the absolute, the highest, the One-ness enlightenment-seekers are longing to find.

What is the opposite of peace? Some might say war, but I would call it ’non-ease’: to be not at ease with what is happening in this moment. And that, if followed through undetected, is creating drama, the drama at home, at work, at Netflix. You don’t need to invade another country armed to the teeth to go to war while you have it right at your door step all the time.

To overcome this state of mind and find peace in the present moment is taking out the dramas in your life (and the world wars) instantly. The good news is, you don’t need to meditate for hours a day, go to yoga festivals or retreat to the montain cave for months to find peace. 3 deep breaths, a few quiet moments sitting on the ground connecting with Mother Earth, e voilà: peace has arisen. It is that easy.

Much more difficult is to stay in this state of mind. And that is actually the struggle. But why do we need to pursue something that is impossible to obtain? Peace always comes with un-ease, thats duality! There is no state of being at peace all the time. There is only being at peace in one moment and being not at ease in the other moment. Just relax: we have to bow to this simple fact, that peace is a momentary achievement through either intention or divine intervention, and why not? If you find yourself at un-ease with what is, just sit down and take 3 deep breaths and peace will find you once again.
In this way you are also at peace with your peace-seeking mind. Let the moment be as it is and just breathe deeply.

  • Since beginning family constellation work with Maia, there has been a marked improvement in my family's relationships. This has been experienced not only by myself, but on a wider familial scale. I have watched dynamics slowly and gently change for the better and there is a clear sense of more space and capacity for everyone to move in different, healthier directions and ways of relating. Prior to this work, I was not on speaking terms with any of my immediate family. We struggled to speak without animosity and tension taking over the interaction. It was awful. With this work, we have been able to build our relationships through phone calls, and even had a small visit with one another recently. We enjoyed each other's company and it was the most peaceful interaction we have had in recent memory. On a personal level, I have experienced a greater sense of peace, health and well being. I have watched my brother and father begin to form a bond they struggled to build before, my dad is finally beginning to see possibilities for himself and he is exploring them. My mom is also working on her own personal development in areas she has always wanted to, but felt unable to, while my brother is branching out bravely into areas he never thought possible in his personal and professional life, as am I. This work has been able to free each of us in ways unique to each person, allowing us to delve into areas we want to work on and find forward momentum and progress- whereas before it felt no matter how much therapy or work was done, some things were hidden or muffled and solutions to growth, progress and development, were frustratingly hidden from view or ineffective no matter how much work we each were doing. It feels that now, each individual can bloom and thrive in the unique ways each of us most needed and our entire family unit is becoming healthier as a result. There's still more to do, but I feel we are headed in a wonderful direction with the support Constellation Therapy has offered.

  • My first Family Constellation workshop. I can tell Maia is a deeply tuned-in spiritual being, with her feet on the ground and great wisdom to compliment her considerable and lucid intelligence. Friends had recommended Family Constellations as a complimentary modality to the Hakomi psychotherapy I have graduated in, and it seems Maia is one of the most (if not the most) experienced and trained facilitator. It was an intense day! Quite different from anything else I've tried. Beautifully conducted, clearly explained, and conducted in an embodied, interactive way that catered to my individual concerns and outlook. I'll definitely be trying this again.   • At first I was concerned that online Family Constellation sessions would probably not work well, or at least be considerably less effective than sessions in person with Maia. But what I found was the online group energy was just as strong as before, and my personal experiences were just as insightful and just as healing for me as in previous sessions. In fact in some cases, I felt the energy was even stronger.

    I feel it is extremely important though when the sessions are online that the facilitator is especially experienced in guiding Family Constellations. We are blessed that Maia is such a facilitator. Thank you Maia. Love

  • Having done both group and private Family Constellation sessions online I can say that they are both as effective as sessions in person. To my surprise I found that the group sessions worked even better online. Being alone in my own home was familiar and comfortable. Perhaps I was less self-conscious, or less distracted. Whatever the reason, we were all in agreement that the virtual format was more intense. Both as a character and as a watching participant it was less like a performance and more of a group conversation. More intimate, more of a collaboration in spirit.

    Maia has a flexible attitude of exploration that makes it easy to trust her instincts, and go for the journey, set up for enquiry, being confident that it will always be worth the trip. The resulting resolutions brought powerful and meaningful outcomes in every case.
